Laugh About It Comedian of the Week - Lizzie Boeck

Welcome to my new weekly blog series inspired by my popular “Laugh About It with Sade Champagne” radio show and multimedia platforms where I feature a comedian who’s work I enjoy and share how they have brought happiness & healing to my life!

The first comedian we are featuring in this series is Lizzie Boeck! Lizzie is a professional former coach and Division 1 athlete turned screenwriter and comedian based in Los Angeles. She began her comedy journey studying improv at Second City Hollywood and The Groundlings and later took to the stage as a standup, performing across Los Angeles, including at The Comedy Store and Westside Comedy Theater. As a writer, Lizzie (and her writing partner) were quarterfinalists in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Competition 2023 as well as WeScreenplay Feature Lab 2023 for their film, The Volleyball Movie: Rick Dawson Spikes Back. I’m sure she has been working on even more since I had her on my radio show September 29, 2023.

I don’t recall exactly how I first got connected with Lizzie, but I’m sure glad we did! She is such a positive, powerful and hilarious force - her episode of my Laugh About It with Sade Champagne radio show is actually one of my favorites! This was her first radio interview, and I’m honored it was on my show. Listen to it on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4m7ARiABmsFTUQ8u1FxpAM?si=rJK5GpwdTtWE4spQPtVYxw&nd=1&dlsi=b354e3ec79844a1f

I haven’t had the opportunity to see Lizzie live on stage yet, but experiencing her on my radio show and following her on social media has me ecstatic to either see her in action stat or create an event where I can bring her out to perform! She makes you feel relaxed and like she’s bringing you into her story with such ease and grace. I was laughing throughout the radio episode, while also receiving countless nuggets of encouragement. Lizzie has a way of being vulnerable without over sharing or being cringey. She exudes balance and wisdom. If this radio show episode and her social media are any indicators of what’s to come, I am confident that Lizzie will continue to carve out her own path and thrive! I would like to see Lizzie Boeck create more content, continue to tackle hilarious and uncomfortable topics with unique audiences, go on tour and even produce her own shows. As a woman of Faith, I was also extremely grateful for the way Lizzie shared about her spiritual beliefs and invited the listeners to receive without feeling like they were being pressured or as if she was trying to convert them. She knows how to meet people where they are and flow like a butterfly! Overall I felt extremely lighter in spirit and filled with joy after having Lizzie Boeck on my radio show. Even to this day, I have held that episode in my heart and will listen to it again! I believe that she has a vibrant future ahead, and hope to continue to support her anyway that I can. See or request Lizzie Boeck to perform live in a city near you, book her if you are able to or share her name with someone who can. To stay updated on her upcoming shows, follow LIZZIE BOECK on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lizzieboeck and Tiktok https://www.tiktok.com/@lizzieboeck, let her know that Sade Champagne sent you!
