Laugh About It Comedian of the Week - Max Byrd Parker
Welcome to my new weekly blog series inspired by my popular “Laugh About It with Sade Champagne” radio show and multimedia platforms where I feature a comedian whose work I enjoy and share how they have brought happiness & healing to my life!
This week we are featuring Max Byrd Parker! I first remember meeting Max and seeing her in action back in 2019 I believe when she was cohosting the 2019 Afrolicious Hair Expo in Los Angeles. Max is a professional comic, actor, writer, producer and host of The Max Capacity Comedy Show & host of The Hollywood Comedy. She’s a pretty good dancer and singer too if I do say so myself!
When I first saw Max at the 2019 Afrolicious Hair Expo in Los Angeles, I knew there was something special about her. Her energy, presence and flavor were magnetic (and still is!). I got a chance to meet her and let her know how much I was enjoying her hosting and everything she brought to the event. She is a resident professional!
Fast forward to February 2023 when Denise Carter had her live comedy events and she was creating, executive producing and hosting a supercharged “Denise Carter and Friends” comedy show for Black History Month. That was an incredible lineup! Max Byrd Parker was one of her featured performers. This was the first time I got to see Max do stand-up comedy and I was laughing my face off. She is such a treat! The way she’s able to glide like a stunning gazelle across the room/stage and utilize her beautiful lungs of life – you never know what you’re going to get from her, but it’s always going to be a hilarious surprise. Max is extremely talented! She is someone that I can definitely see casting for future Productions, performances, and events of mine.
Off stage she is gracious, humble, and warm. I would like to see Max continue to stretch and display all of her gifts. There is a special place for her in this industry and wherever she goes. I can see her being in TV shows, films, commercials and much more. “Comedic Musical Broadway”- and maybe even starting her own lane. I’ll be praying for more dynamic Heaven-sent opportunities for her to shine and do what she loves! Whatever Max Byrd Parker does, I’ll continue to support, promote and cheer her on! Oh and I definitely want to have her as a special guest on an upcoming episode of my “Laugh About It with Sade Champagne Radio Show”!

Who would you like me to feature next on Laugh About It Comedian of the Week? What and who’s been making you laugh lately?
