Laugh About It Comedian of the Week - Julia Austin
Welcome to my new weekly blog series inspired by my popular “Laugh About It with Sade Champagne” radio show and multimedia platforms where I feature a comedian whose work I enjoy and share how they have brought happiness & healing to my life!
This week we are highlighting the hilarious, beautiful professional comedian, writer and content creator Julia Austin! I first saw Julia on stage and met her in person a couple years ago at our mutual dear friend Chris Williams’ packed house Let Loose Comedy Show at The Grape Ventura. My mom, friends and I laughed so hard that we still talk about it to this day! We can remember how fun and funny that night was. Julia stood out like the bright amusing thumb that she is. The way she paces herself, her storytelling, how she draws you in in ways that you wouldn’t expect- she is full of surprises! After the show I assured Julia that I would be in touch and have her on my Laugh About It Radio Show in the future.

This is another one of my favorite episodes of my radio show, and I feel immensely blessed to have been introduced to Julia Austin’s comedy.
This past summer I was overjoyed to attend Julia’s mini comedy special taping at The Crow in Santa Monica, CA and what a magnificent time! The way she was able to turn tragedy and also remind us how you can never judge a book by its cover was magical. She is a master at her craft and you can tell the work, talent and effort she has put into her gifts over all these years. I would like to see Julia Austin travel to perform on more stages, maybe even have a TV show one day loosely based on her life if she wants and have her write a comical inspirational book! I want to support her journey any way that I can. One of my favorite things to do when I need a good laugh or some cheerful interesting perspective is go on Julia’s Instagram page and enjoy her content.
