“LOVE” Guest post by Jeremy A. Watkins

One of my dearest friends Jeremy A. Watkins has been sharing a dual post series he wrote on social media titled “HER” and “HIM”. These pieces dive into a holistic and spiritual health perspective of men and women from a consciousness of what life and relationships can be like when we are secure in our identities in God. Although I most definitely liked his “Her” series, the “Him” series has been connecting with me just as much! I think as women we can all get caught up in who we think men are (often based on how we grew up, how we’ve been treated, and what we’ve seen) instead of remembering that we all have been equally broken. And in order to heal our focus and energy have to shift. The good news is that God is always healing, restoring, comforting (and more) and when you say yes to this adventurous and beautiful life with Jesus, the presence and power of God will be the One to manifest all these truths and grace within you. I wanted to share this piece from Jeremy’s “HIM” series on “Love”. I hope that it blesses and encourages you just as much as it has me. To see more posts and content from Jeremy A. Where he loves, there God is too.

He is the too good to be true kind of lover. The man who looks into the innermost being of another to replace what is hidden with what love sees. The one who stills the movement of his world to capture the full attention of those who call his name. Standards surrender and expectations baffle at the inability to measure the constant pour of his love. He is the romance most have never had while being a reality all should experience.

Whatever and whomever he chooses to behold him, receives what will surpass a lifetime. He sows from eternal places to remold the temporal things into everlasting encounters. Time slips into slow motion and age seems to lose its place when he is invited into an open heart. Transformation grabs ahold of his receiver as he joyously observes their truest becoming. To be loved by him is to see God through him. He brings all divine things with his presence.

Many will question and deny his heart is as true as he displays. But, the one who accepts his choosing is the one who accepts eternal love.

He was made to lead the world back to love.

“This is My commandment, that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another, just as I have loved you. No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends.

This [is what] I command you: that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another. “If the world hates you [and it does], know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love [you as] its own and would treat you with affection. But you are not of the world [you no longer belong to it], but I have chosen you out of the world. And because of this the world hates you.”
